Overnight Field Trip to Wassu Stone Circles

The Middle School and High School students went on an overnight trip March 9th-10th to see the famous Wassu stone circles, which connected to their Humanities unit on ancient West African kingdoms. It was an adventure for the group as we crossed the river on the ferry twice in the same time, and we spent the night at the MRC campus in Keneba. On Saturday morning we took a tour of the Keneba neighborhood and spoke to a group of people from Keneba about the issues of deforestation and charcoal use, as background information for the service-learning project.
